Oh man, now all of Sweden is on the seapunk train!
Involuntary Dye Job of the Day: Blond Swedes from the town of Anderslöv had their hair involuntarily dyed green after a plumbing problem resulted in a high concentration of cooper in their shower water.
Officials initially believed the water itself was to blame, but tests showed the copper levels were normal.
It was eventually discovered that pipes and water heaters in Anderslöv’s newer homes were being stripped of their copper by the hot water used for showering. When residents did their daily wash, the tainted water caused their yellow hair to turn a certain shade of green.
No word on when the town plans to fix the pipes, but the blond population has reportedly been advised that the only way to avoid going green is to take cold showers — or move.
